Cherished - Learning to Receive God's Love
To be cherished means to be held dear. Jesus loved and respected the women he ministered to crossing cultural and social boundaries to touch them, heal them, teach them, and ultimately give them a purpose in his kingdom. Cherished examines Jesus' interactions with four ordinary women whose lives were forever changed by the touch of the Master. Cherished, by the way, is not a feeling, it is a state of being. Learn to be cherished.
A rising epidemic among women today is loneliness. Hard to believe but in the fast-paced, social media world of today even people who walk around connected to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are suffering from a lack of human connection and true intimacy. Have we forgotten how to "do relationship"? Loneliness does not have to become a lifestyle. Instead as Followers of Jesus we can learn to re-engage in true authentic and intimate relationships and live the Never Alone Lifestyle. We can learn to make space for rest and balance. Most of all we stand out and live a life that is marked by unexplainable joy, connection, security and most of all peace. But ... it begins with cultivating an intimate relationship with Jesus.
I AM Says, "You Are ..."
Who are you? What defines you? Can a cross look ruin your day? Does a hurtful word send you into a tailspin? Do you try to fix situations and people around you in order to feel comfortable? Does a memory of a past mistake haunt your thoughts? Do you think past mistakes limit your future potential? Are you at peace? The truth is we all struggle from time to time with our identity. Simply put identity is how one thinks about themselves and the character traits that confirm that perception. The problem... what we think about ourselves is often built upon the hurtful careless words of others, our negative self talk about our failures and faults, and the way we compare ourselves to the world and cultural values around us. God's intention for us from our creation was that he would be the one to define us. His words after creating Adam and Eve - It is GOOD. So it is the time we change the way we think about ourselves. It is the time we adopt God's perspective and renew our minds from the cultural clutter that poisons our thoughts and seeps into our attitudes and actions. It is the time we stand in the identity that was ours before the foundation of the world. Beloved. (Can also be presented in several other formats including one-hour workshops.)
Tossed, Tumbled and Still Trusting
These are the very situations God allowed into the lives of two prominent women of the Bible, Ruth and Naomi. Perhaps you have experienced a similar loss or trial and you too have questioned, "Why, God." Tests and trials not only challenge our faith, they reveal our character ... who we are when no one is watching. How we act, what we say, value and think matters to God because character determines our choices. God uses our tests and trials to refine our character, purifying it so only the likeness of his son Jesus remains. Our growth is not just internal; it becomes external-obviously visible to those around us. Through the retreat, we will explore the actions and reactions of Ruth and Naomi to their most difficult life struggles. We'll learn to identify character imperfections and replace them with Christ-like attitudes and behavior. You will come to know that despite being tossed and tumbled by life, you can choose to be like Ruth, a woman of excellence. Tossed, Tumbled and Still Trusting will teach you to rise above your feelings, cling to your faith, and believe God for more than what you see.

"CJ was communicating with me the whole weekend on how it was going and how the schedule and plans, worship order played out for each session. She spoke from the Word of God! She wasn't glued to her notes that showed she was being used by the Holy Spirit." ~ Debi Foss, Mt. Bethel, PA
"One of the strongest facets of CJ is her ability to speak as if she was speaking one-on-one with each woman present. She brought God's Word alive in application and presentation; drawing a connection to the characters of the book of Ruth and how they are not so different from us. CJ was vulnerable and dependent on God and yet confident in His empowerment ... it showed in her speaking, her analogies, her life experiences, and in how she challenged us." ~ Stina Grimm, La Jolla, CA
"It was obvious that CJ had spent time with the Lord before each presentation. She was filled with the light and love of Jesus. She and the worship leader coordinated beautifully. Her teachings were straight from the Word. She is warm and approachable ... on the stage and off!" ~ Sharon Parker, Ventura, CA
