Karen Fisher's songs are simply a window to her heart; a chance to communicate her love for Christ in a way that may not speak as loudly in everyday conversation.
In her own words, "Music moves me. Sometimes I can get more from a song than I can from a sermon or a book. A four minute song can impact me for a lifetime." Her hope is that others will share that same connection with her music. That maybe one song can speak volumes about God's love for us and our need for Him. Karen Fisher's Bio
The character definition of singer/songwriter Karen Fisher is two-fold; a storyteller driven by the music within her. Having been described as the "voice of moms," she has taken the profound that has meandered throughout her life and written them lyrically on the pages of sheet music. Stirring the souls of audiences everywhere with a smiling heart that reaches deep within and stretches the soul, her passion is simply stated, "it is enough to serve."
In the vein of Contemporary Pop with a spice of blues, Karen's music is reminiscent of her luminaries, Nicole Nordeman, Sarah McLaughlin, and Watermark, to name a few. Her smooth and calming voice brings vision to the "vision-less". This tenderness that accompanies her music has given Karen the opportunity to open for several major recording artists including Lincoln Brewster and the vocal group Avalon. Currently residing in Midland, TX, with her husband and three children, it is evident that family is first. Karen knows first-hand that being a mom and having a voice to speak of the pleasures, ups and downs and challenges that go with this venture is something that needs to be heard. Putting it all together in song is a gift that she definitely possesses. She writes from personal experience and states that her children are an "endless source of musical and spiritual inspiration". Her desire to put the above in action has led her to lead worship for PrayerForce with Fern Nichols of Moms in Touch and Jennifer Kennedy Dean of the Praying Life Foundation. She has been a guest on Babbie Mason's talk show, "Babbie's House", as well as sharing her music at speaking engagements with well-known authors including David Limbaugh, Lisa Whelchel, and Nancy Cobb. "I saw greatness and huge potential in Karen when she was a student in my middle school music class ... Things haven't changed. That spark, the passion and freshness, it's all there. Those qualities have only intensified. They have been honed into the attributes of the consummate singer-songwriter ..." states Babbie Mason, singer/songwriter/author. In 2006, Karen returned from the 30th annual GMA "Music in the Rockies" competition where she placed 3rd in both the pop/contemporary vocal performance and songwriting category. With her newest hymns album, Where I First Saw the Light, currently spinning in players everywhere, Karen continues to "give it all" as she encourages others and shows them the heart of Jesus, all the while building relationships along the road. Join her and experience her calling through either a live performance or on your own music player. |

Karen's Music CD's
|
The New Has Come CD marks the second full-length release for the talented Texan, and it finds her songwriting evocative and uplifting, her sound mature and honest, and her vocals as amazing as ever. The album consists of 13 originals including the praiseful title track "The New Has Come", with its blues guitar, keyboard sounds, and gospel-tinged vocal breakdowns. "Gravity," an irresistibly catchy sing-along anthem declares that "Your love is like Gravity, it keeps pulling me closer and closer to you." Karen has already earned comparisons to Contemporary Christian heavy-hitter Nichole Nordeman, and with this slick and soulful release she proves she has the talent to become just as big a name.
