Janell Rardon, International Speaker and Author of Rock-Solid Families: Transforming an Ordinary Home into a Fortress of Faith (AMG Publishers/Living Ink Books), recently entered the empty nest phase of life, with husband of twenty-six years, Rob. It will answer the question, “Who is the source of my identity?” Knowing who they are in Christ is the antidote to society’s alluring voices, the secret to spiritual success, the key to walking in complete freedom and the empowering truth that will enable them to remain constant in their faith, especially during the formative high school/college years. Once women, both young and old, understand whose they are, they will know who they are, thus able to resist the persistent barrage of cultural expectations and live in the freedom Christ—wholly and unabashedly. American writer, Helen Hunt Jackson, once wrote, “Motherhood is priced of God, at price no man may dare, to lessen or misunderstand.” Hailed by mothers as “the toughest job on earth,” mothering is most definitely a calling. This session will delve into the challenging subject of calling and vocation and search the hearts and lives of three Biblical women who expressed their calling as mothers: Mary, mother of Jesus, who submits to a surprising visitation of God; Sarah, mother of Isaac, who takes circumstances into her own hands; and Jochebed, mother of Moses, who exhibits supernatural courage in the face of cultural demands. Janell draws from her personal experience as a mother of three and stands on the shoulders of many great women who have been called to motherhood.

Someone once said, “Keeping a journal is a voyage into the interior.” In this creative workshop, Janell, an avid wordsmith and He(Art) journalist, leads women of all ages, as their captain on the voyage into the interior. As a writing teacher, Janell has spent years transforming hesitant, fearful-of-the-blank-page students into passionate, I-can’t-stop writers. Much more than a journaling workshop, Janell invokes a deep passion for living a wide-awake, live-in-the-moment, face your fears and move in freedom, life!
