Barb Roose embraces and enjoys the complex world of faith, love, relationships, responsibilities and celebrating the even the smallest victories in life.
Barb grew into a tall, lanky kid with thick Coke-bottle glasses in a close-knit, loving family. She had a love-hate relationship with the Barbie Dolls and occasionally hears her dreaded childhood nickname when she goes home to visit. Barb’s mom led her to faith in Christ at nine years old and inspired Barb as her Bible teacher. A classic first-born, young Barb believed that God’s favor depended upon following the rules. In college, Barb discovered a powerful truth: “There is nothing we can do to make God love us more and there is nothing we can do to make God love us less.”
It was in her dorm room at Bowling Green State University in March 1992 that Barb finally believed this for herself. After growing up secretly hoping to gain God’s favor by being a “good girl,” Barb spent her first two years of college being the “best little party girl” she could be (without doing anything illegal, mom…). On a spring day, Barb sat in her dorm room gazing down at a positive pregnancy test and for the first time truly understood that the same God who loved her when she was “following all the rules” for good Christian girls was the same God who still loved her even though she had seemingly wrecked her life.
Matt Roose and Barb married in July 1992 and their oldest daughter, Kate, was born in October of that same year. After graduating from college, Barb worked as an insurance adjuster, pharmaceutical sales rep and non-profit executive.
Barb believes that God has shaped her heart to reach out to women who don’t know – or maybe they have forgotten – that they are beautiful because God created them. It’s her prayer that every woman understand and realize that she has a God-given purpose in this world and nothing that she sees in the mirror should hold her back!
Barb has been speaking at conferences, churches and women’s ministry events since 2005. She loves inspiring women through challenging Biblical teaching, personal stories, and a deep love for each audience that clearly communicates how much they matter to God and me.
As a speaker, Barb believes that God has equipped her to creatively communicate the Bible and topics related to discipleship and spiritual disciplines in a way that is relevant and easy for people to understand so that they can apply it to their lives. As an author, she writes to encourage and inspire women to connect with God and each other.
Barb served as the Executive Director of Ministry at CedarCreek Church in Perrysburg, Ohio, where she served on staff for fourteen years. She co-led their annual Fabulous Women’s Conference that reached over 10,000 women during it’s five-year run.

Mirror, Mirror: Seeing Yourself as God Sees You
Embracing our God-given beauty, both on the inside and out. This presentation is perfect to kick off an all-day event!
United We Stand, Divided We Fall
Why is Sunday still the most segregated hour in America? God created different races and cultures for a purpose, yet the Church is often silent on the issue of race. How do we begin the conversation? What will it cost us as Christians if we remain silent? Barb Roose shares the three pillars of Christ-centered racial unity and practical application for how believers of different races and cultures redeem our tragic racial history in Jesus' name.
Hungry No More: Surrendering Ourselves to the Only ONE Who Satisfies!
Our culture over-consumes everything but God! We over-eat, over-spend, over-worry, and most of us probably over-do social media. Yet, we're starved for peace, hope and joy. What could happen if God’s daughters truly hungered for the gifts only God can provide? We’ll talk about how surrender weans us of the things that junk up our hearts, minds, bodies and souls. Barb will fill your spiritual plate with three daily opportunities to satisfy your soul in Christ! (Theme: Spiritual Discipline/Discipleship)
